Tropical Pet Store opens in Greenville

BY JOY ROSEBERRY
GREENVILLE—Gabe Bush and his wife, Kristalyn, took his hobby of collecting tropical pets and rolled it into a successful, new business in Greenville – Bush’s Tropical Pet Store. Located at 139 B N. Broadway (nestled between Maid Rite and Hamilton’s), Gabe and Kristalyn have found a niche – the only pet store in the area – and it is booming.

The store stocks parakeets and cockatiels, guinea pigs, spiders, reptiles (snakes, lizards, turtles, frogs and more) as well as 18 tanks full of a variety of freshwater fish. Also, reptile bedding and live and frozen food, fish food and bird food. Right now, the store doesn’t carry salt water pets, but Gabe said, “I can order anything anyone needs from animals to cages.”

Hours are Monday and Wednesday, 1-7 p.m.; Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1-5 p.m.
