VERSAILLES--The Secretary of Agriculture of the State of Ohio has
appointed Mike Williams to serve on the Ohio Grape Industries Committee. Williams is the President and Owner of The
Winery at Versailles which is one of more than 178 wineries in the State of
Ohio. Mr. Williams looks forward to
creating opportunities for Ohio viticulture that will help to move the industry
towards producing wines of the highest quality.
The agriculture industry is a vital part of the state’s economy,
and the grape and wine industry continues to play an important role in the
agriculture sector. According to the
Ohio Department of Agriculture the next several years will be critical to the
growth of the grape and wine industry in Ohio.
The Winery at Versailles opened in October of 2002 and has
enjoyed serving Darke County quality wine for the last 10 years. The winery is located at 6572 State Route 47
outside of Versailles.
